2025 FISHING CENSUS


This will be our sixth annual survey. In 2024 66 DVFF’rs reported nearly 1,200 days on the water in 23 states and 15 foreign countries. Send me your data and attend the December Open House to view the Memorable Catches retrospective. I also want a photo of your favorite catch this year and a brief story. You’ll be able to see yourself in the show and find out what I say about you. So far, I have 44 individuals submitting over 100 photos. I’m looking for at least 75 members contributing. Don’t be left out.


Send via email (alanchristian87@gmail.com), the following: (1) Number of Days Fished, (2), Number of Days Out of State, (3) Favorite California Fishery and (4) Locations Out of State.

Print out and complete the form and either bring it to a meeting or send it to the club mailbox (Diablo Valley Fly Fishermen, P.O. Box 4988, Walnut Creek, CA 94596). Fly Fishing Classes

The DVFF offers fly fishing classes during the spring and fall. Check the Novice Fly Fishing Fundamentals page for additional information.

Fly Tying Classes

Our fly tying course can introduce you to some of the most commonly used patterns. You should check the Fly Tying Class page and Windknots for updated information and schedules.

Rod Building Classes

In our rod building classes experienced members will guide you through the creation of your custom fly rod. Classes are announced in our Windknots newsletter and are usually held on Saturdays./p>
