The Trinity River below the Lewiston Dam is a flyfishing only section that opens in April and closes in mid-September. While the entire river is often fished in the fall and winter for Steelhead, this summer trip is an opportunity to fish for rainbow and brown trout in the tailwater for the few miles below the Lewiston Dam. Other opportunities include parts of the river downstream near Douglas City and Junction City. Trip Leader has reserved 2 standard campsites at the Mary Smith Campground close to the flyfishing only section of the river. Tent cabins and Yurt type rentals are available at the same campground and can be arranged separately if desired among participants. This outing has water for anglers of all skill levels however excellent hiking and wading skills are required.
