The East Carson River near Markleeville has every type of water. Part of it is designated Wild and Scenic, and part is heavily stocked. Nearby are infrequently fished streams of Wolf Creek and Silver King Creek. Silver Creek is also a fun nearby stream that is stocked. Stillwater fishing is available at Indian Creek Reservoir and Heenan Lake. Plenty of camping is available as well as hotel rooms and Airbnb cabins.
There are two campsites reserved that can hold 18 people. We will accept 7 anglers to start because only 2 cars per site are allowed. If car pooling works out the we can accommodate more people. Fees will be paid directly to Jim. There are allow other campsites and hotels available so this trip can accommodate more people.
Wading difficulty is moderate, hiking and river access is moderate with West Carson a little easier in places, and fishing difficulty is average.
Note: Outing has been expanded to 20 participants but any participant signing up June 17, or later, must find own housing or camp site. Currently there are plenty of camp sites available
