The Fly Shop guide Chris King will cover the many fly fishing opportunities available in Northern California in and around Redding. Throughout the course of the year numerous creeks, rivers and stillwaters – public and private – provide fly fishing opportunities for several species of fish using a variety of techniques.

Chris will highlight the Upper and Lower Sacramento River, which both provide a number of publicly available access points. He will also provide information on fly fishing the McCloud and Pit rivers, Hat Creek, and Manzanita Lake, including a description of each fishery and the unique hatches and fly fishing opportunities they offer throughout the season.

Chris was introduced to fly fishing at a young age. In 1998 he found a home at The Fly Shop. He is currently Master Certified, Two Hand Certified and an emeritus member of Fly Fishers International’s Casting Board of Governors. Chris resides in Redding with his wife and two children and has been guiding and teaching casting in Northern California for over 20 years.

This will be presented online, with invitations to the Zoom meeting sent to club members the day before, with a reminder the day of.
