The DVFF Intermediate Fly Tying sessions will be held monthly at CrossWaterCreek in Lafayette, with some exceptions. The club will use a rotating leader approach. Leaders will share pattern information in advance of each session and provide materials to participants as needed.
Ernie Schwarz is leading the 10/17/2026 session, held from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The group will tie the following midge patterns - Duck Fly, Loop Wing Emerger, RS2, WD40, Drowned Midge, Matt's Midge and a Green Midge Emerger. A list of materials for each pattern will be sent to registered participants in advance of the session.
Participants should be experienced fly tyers. These sessions are not for beginners. Participants need to be able to keep pace with the group.
CrossWaterCreek is not charging DVFF a fee to use their upstairs meeting space. Leaders and participants are expected to make purchases in order for this arrangement to be a win-win for both DVFF and Cross Water Creek.
Leaders and participants will need to bring their own equipment. Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials if they have them.
