When: October 4, 2026 – 4 days fishing, 3 nights of riverside lodging
Where: On 42 miles of Southern Oregon’s “Wild and Scenic River”
Cost: $2700 + travel + pre-trip stay + shuttle fee + tip

The Rogue River is known for it’s salmon, steelhead, and rugged scenery. The Rogue was named in the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968. The river begins near Crater Lake and flows 215 miles to the ocean. During the trip’s 42 miles, we will run 30+ Class II, III, and IV rapids. The trip will target fall steelhead aka half pounders, which typically range from 16” to 18” in size. We may also catch Coho Salmon, and if we are lucky a Chinook. We will be fishing a variety of methods, from hopper dropper to swinging flies.

Registration and Payment Info
Here are the steps once you are ready to commit to this outing:
1.
Register now on this DVFF site for the outing. (Starting 7am PDT June 17)
2.
Outing Leader Al Peterson will notify Helfrich Rogue River Trips of the registrations and include needed information including: name, phone number, email, age, weight, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, and physical limitations. I will contact you to gather the last 5 of these items.
3.
Helfrich Rogue River Trips will send you an information email that will include a link to make your deposit of $1,350 directly to Helfrich Rogue River Trips, under our group name. Payment can be by check or electronically (credit card, PayPal or Venmo). An electronic payment will result in a 3 percent added processing fee.
4.
This outing will require “paired” DVFFers for assignment to boats and lodging. The listed outing registrants on the DVFF website, and Al, will help assure pairings are in place.
5.
You will then owe the balance of $1,350 to be paid by August 4th - 60 days prior to the outing.
