Home-water guides for both the American and Yuba River... Based upon historical data (weather, water temperature, and fish catches), lunar (waxing crescent moon) and the trusted Ouija board... May 29th is 2026’s peak shad date.
Put in below Daguerra Dam in Marysville Wednesday May 27th at approximately noon.
Full day trip (approx. 8-hrs) with guides: Dave Barbieri + Chuck Ragan (Dave has essentially exclusive Yuba River access via decade-long/community relationships) - includes water & rods/flies (
no lunch included).
Primarily Walk & Wade (leapfrog shuttle to takeout) opportunities with available two "drift-only" seats each day.
