Fishing the South Fork of the Kings River in the Cedar Grove area along Highway 180. This is an exploratory trip as the trip leader has hiked this area in late June last year and wants to return to fish it.
Trip Leaders has reserved a group camp site in the Canyon View Campground which can accommodate up to 5 vehicles. Trip cost for sharing the group campsite is $50 per vehicle and an additional $35 is needed for entrance into Kings Canyon National Park. Attendees will bring their own food, camping gear and fishing gear.
Bears frequent the campground so all food must fit into the bear boxes. The campground does not allow RVs or trailers; only 5 standard sized cars or trucks.
The campground is around 5,000-feet in elevation. We will be there in the warmer season so if daytime temps (and water temps) are really high, fishing could be limited to morning and later afternoon / early evenings.
