The Pit 3 stretch of the Pit River is a challenging venue but offers good opportunities to hook into some large brown and rainbow trout. It is a wild trout section and has a variety of access points, some requiring hiking-in and others with steep trails or wading through the thicket along the bank. This outing is for anglers with top level hiking and wading skills and great balance.
We will be camping in one of the PG&E campgrounds below the Pit 3 powerhouse. Attendees will be paying for their campsites upon arrival in the first-come basis campground (Ruling Creek Campground) and will also bring their own food / camping gear.
Those wanting to stay in Burney can make their own motel or cabin arrangements separately if desired.
