We are pleased to introduce DVFF to Luk Lake -- a great wintertime and springtime rainbow trout destination and year round bass fishery just 2 1/2 hours from the San Francisco East Bay. DVFF will have exclusive use of the lake. It is possible to land trophy sized bass, sunfish, and planted Triploid rainbow trout all in the same day at Luk Lake!

We’ll be Stillwater fishing from float tubes, pontoon boats, other craft (14 feet or less) powered by electric motors, or from rental row boats available at the lake ($25/day). PFDs required. Gas boat motors and fishing from shore are NOT allowed. DVFF will have exclusive use of the lake. An outing description will be distributed, to participants, with suggested gear, flies, techniques, directions and an outing roster. You will also get a link to the Bass 101 YouTube that Willy George, Dave Roche and Al made 4 years ago. Rod fee is $150 per person. There is an option to add a half day fishing – 12N to dusk - the day before for roughly $100 more. If 6 or more want to fish that Friday half day, we may be able to reserve the lake for that time and get a slightly smaller group half day rate. This is a 65 acre private lake is located off Interstate 5 in Corning, California, behind the Rolling Hills Casino. The lake’s varied shoreline is lined with vegetation and flanked by the rolling golden hillsides of the Central Valley. Its low-elevation location keeps the lake waters moderate and comfortable throughout the winter and spring, providing ideal habitat for rainbow trout until the water temperatures grow too warm in the summertime. Luk Lake has ideal bass habitat. In early May we’ll be able catch bass, lurking under lily pads, and trout using buggers, leeches, and chironomids.

Lodging: Overnight stay accommodations are available at the Rolling Hills Casino rooms, at their RV camping facilities, or at motels (Best Western, Holiday Inn, Econo Lodge, Super 8) in Corning. We will organize an optional group dinner on Friday night for DVFFers who want to either fish the optional half day on Friday or arrive for an early Saturday start.
