As the runoff tapers off into the North Yuba, pockets and pools form over 30+miles of scenic, roadside-accessible water. Avoid the crowds and enjoy the quiet, quaint towns of Downieville and Sierra City. Camping/housing rental options are available and this outing is excellent for beginners.
Many of you have heard of or knew Jon Baiocchi. This was his favorite river in all of California for good reason.
This outing does require physical dexterity and a sustainable amount of stamina but it is as easy as it gets. This trip will require some hiking, negotiating currents and uneven surfaces. If you tire after a short day of hiking over moderate terrain this trip is not for you. Outing leader has final say on who participates and if you sign-up and the outing leader and you decide this is not the right trip you will be refunded your sign-up fee.
