This class is designed to satisfy the needs of those club members who have yet to be adequately exposed to the basic knowledge and skills of fly fishing. All members of the family - spouse and children 15 years and older are welcome. It will provide the beginner with enough information including knowledge of equipment, casting, basic entomology, fly selection, knots, and reading water for their initial experience with the sport. This seminar will provide a wealth of "how to" information coupled with, hopefully, accomplished basic casting techniques from which to further build his or her fly fishing skills and knowledge. Casting and knot tying instruction will take place at a later date, with invites sent out to all students.
The class fee is $50. If you are not a club member, you must first join the club and then return to this screen to register for the class. The club membership fee is $45 and
can be paid online here. The fee includes syllabus and membership for non-members. Family members (spouses and children under 21) are covered under one primary membership.
This class will include two Zoom sessions on April 13th and 17th, and an in-person half-day session on April 15th. (The class will actually "start" with homework assignments beginning in mid March.) Instructor Alan Christian will lead the class. This class will be limited to 16 students. C
