A Memorial Day Campout!

We’ll be camping and fishing the Middle Fork beneath the Beardsley Dam/Afterbay and the South Fork from Pinecrest Lake down to Frasier Flat. Both forks are regularly planted with rainbow trout -- the South Fork is more accessible while the Middle Fork holds the bigger fish, including some large brown trout. 

Most camping in the area is first-come first served so we’ll have members going up early to reserve camp sites at TeleLi puLaya (Black Oak Flat), Beardsley, Frasier Flat, or Meadowview Campgrounds. Ideally we’ll get the group camp(s) at the relatively new (and still secret) Black Oak Flat. Some may choose dispersed camping or no camping at all, staying instead at the Long Barn Lodge. Camping fees can be paid upon arrival.

Want to be with the group but not WITH the group? Perhaps you have a child, spouse, or friend you want to get away with for the Memorial Day weekend but don't want to be around a bunch of other people? Primitive camping is plentiful and peaceful here. You can stop by our campfire and say hello and/or find buddies to fish with.
