Zealand and the Ningaloo Reef
in North West Australia
with Don Muelrath
Freelance outdoor and fly fishing photographer and writer Don Muelrath will join us for a presentation on two destinations: New Zealand and the Ningaloo Reef off North West Australia. Don’s presentation will cover the unique fly fishing options in both places and a description of why each is a world-class destination in their own right.
Both are distinctly different fisheries. New Zealand offers a truly unique opportunity to sight fish for trophy trout in spectacular settings. Don will discuss touring options, guides, logistics, the people, and the countries. The Ningaloo Reef is a salt water flats fishery with large bonefish, giant trevally, permit, golden trevally, and other species, in a dynamic and beautiful marine environment.
Don is a freelance outdoor and fly fishing photographer and writer. He has fished and photographed many of the world’s foremost and spectacular fly fishing destinations, ranging from the Amazon, Africa, and Patagonia to Australia, the Mexican Yucatan, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas, Quebec, and Kamchatka.
Don and his son, Scott, have contributed articles and photos in most of the major U.S. fishing magazines and books. Their work has been published in European magazines in French, Dutch, German, and Russian. This list includes Gray's Sporting Journal, Saltwater Sportsman, Sport Fishing, Sporting Classics, Fly Fishing in Saltwaters, Fly Fishing and Tying Journal, Saltwater Fly Fishing, Fish & Fly and the Readers Digest book “The Complete Book Of Flyfishing - A World Wide Guide.” Don and his son coauthored the award-winning “Fly Fishing’s Greatest Adventures: THE HUNT.”
