Fishing the Lower Yuba on the UC Davis property. Each day will be limited to 15 fishers.

Participants need to sign-up and pay for each day they want to attend.

River access is generally easy, as is the wading, but the upper river section requires somewhat aggressive hiking and wading. Late Fall is an amazing time on the Yuba. The salmon are spawning, trout and steelhead are feeding on salmon eggs, and the river is beautiful. Late Fall can bring great fishing to the Yuba, especially nymphing egg patterns behind salmon redds. If we are lucky, there will be a baetis event to bring the fish to surface for feeding. You will need to have a Steelhead card in addition to your standard inland fishing license.

We will meet at the access gate between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., where registrants will have to sign a UC waiver and show COVID-19 vaccination cards before entering the property. We need to be off the property before dusk. There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables overlooking the water that provides a pleasant place to eat your lunch.
