Update for the 2021 BBQ
We are excited about getting the club members together in person for our BBQ on Sept. 21! Given the current surge in COVID cases and the indoor mask mandate in Contra Costa County, the DVFF Safety Committee met last week to review our COVID rules. As a result, the board of directors has decided to move the BBQ to an outdoor location and require that all participants be vaccinated. There are two picnic areas in Pleasant Hill Park (adjacent to the planned indoor location at the Senior Center) that will accommodate a large group, allow us to gather outdoors, and eat at large picnic tables.
We hope to have a large crowd at the BBQ but need to know club interest. Please register and pay for the BBQ no later than Aug. 25. This will allow the board to complete the arrangements to hold the event. If we decide to cancel due to low registration or further COVID risks, all payments will be refunded to members.
The BBQ will remain as previously described – BBQ dinner, beer, wine and free raffle tickets – with pricing subsidized by the DVFF. We’ll also have a silent auction. This is a great opportunity to welcome new members and reconnect with friends! The schedule, again, is:
