This on the water clinic for Fly Fishing Fundamental students will target small creeks in the Lake Almanor area.  Alan Christian will present a Fish Talk covering the region prior to this outing. Mentors will be on hand during the outing to help FFF grads put their new knowledge to work.  This outing will include:
  • Bug sampling and fly matching on the North Fork of the Feather River at the city park in Chester.
  • Coached fishing on several small creeks including Hamilton Branch, NF of the Feather, Butt Valley Creek, Deer Creek and possibly Mill Creek.
  • Participants are invited to join the evening Almanor Hex outing but should sign up for that outing separately. The Hex outing requires a water craft.

Cost of lodging at the resort will be approximately $140/person for three nights – meals not included. Attendees have an option to purchase a starter fly selection for $25; contact the outing leader for information. Float tubes may be available for interested FFF participants.
